ANT 104: WORLD PREHISTORY PROJECT (SUBMIT)

Every student will write one essay during the semester to contribute to our World Prehistory Project.

All essays will be posted to our website and evaluated by a class TA as well as another student using a standardized rubric to evaluate content as well as a standardized rubric to evaluate style.

Guidelines for ALL essays:
  • Your essay should explore the WHO, WHERE, WHEN, and WHY of the specific site/culture assigned to you (see content guidelines).

  • Maximum length of essays is 300 words (not including references).

  • Quoted material is NOT allowed. This is a very short essay, and you are expected to use your own words and thoughts.

  • Minimum of three bibliographic references required.

  • You may use Wikipedia, but only as ONE of your references.

  • Bibliographic references must be formatted appropriately (see references guidelines).

  • A five percent bonus is available on your essay if you follow the instructions for your First Five extra credit points.

  • All essays will be graded on both content and style:

    • Content (64%)
      • WHO? (16%)
      • WHERE? (16%)
      • WHEN? (16%)
      • WHY? (16%)

    • Style (36%)
      • Punctuation and Grammar (12%)
